I am an illustrator, cat mom and a plant hoarder. Before fully stepping into my creative practice in 2020, I earned a Master’s degree in Architecture and worked as an architect for six years – a foundation that continues to shape the structure & precision within my work.

Emerging from the subconscious, my illustrations transform fragments of unusual dreams, botanical forms, human anatomy and Art Nouveau ornamentation into surreal compositions layered with universal symbols. Each piece becomes part of an unfolding mystical narrative.

Orla Bird is not my given name. It was the name I carried during the first months of my life before my parents changed their minds. In Croatian, it means female eagle – a symbol that I later recognized as a fitting reflection of my artistic identity..

My work spans multiple creative disciplines, from designing tarot decks and illustrated planners to creating cyanotypes – deep blue prints produced using photosensitive solutions and UV light. While I primarily create and sell my own work, commissions and collaborations are always welcome.
